The middle of nowhere the heart is at home, here you will always find a partner for chess, the perfect chef and the perfect cook. Thanks for having us and thanks for all the hints, tips and chats. Eddie - remember the Beatles is "lucky man" !!

We were bike-packing the Great North Trail and after days of constant rain everything was soaking wet and we were feeling very sorry for ourselves! Ed, Heather & Thomas were our heros, managed to get us a room last minute and dried out all our soggy muddy kit in their boiler room! We had a spacious, cosy and immaculate room, an incredible 3 course dinner and a lovely breakfast (the best scrambled egg I’ve had in a long time!) We couldn’t have had nicer hosts and I can’t recommend this place enough!

The evening meals were phenomenal!

Wonderful visit
I spent two nights here as a solo traveller. Heather, Eddie and Thomas were very friendly, welcoming, interesting to talk to, easygoing but organised, and gave excellent advice on walks to do in the area.
The evening meals were phenomenal. I can highly recommend the mushroom and chestnut Wellington, and the sticky toffee pudding was amazing! Breakfast was also excellent. They cater very well for vegetarians.
Room was spacious and comfortable too, with a great view of the mountains. Good shower pressure and plenty of hot water.
Last but not least, their yellow Labrador, Finn, is a delight - a really sweet and funny dog who loves being fussed. The establishment is dog-friendly too. They even give their canine guests a sausage at breakfast.
The only complaint I have is that I did not get enough time there. Will have to return one day!

We were lucky enough to have just spent two nights at the guesthouse and we only wish it could have been longer. What fantastic hosts Heather, Ed and Thomas were! We were made to feel incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived, as was our little dog who was spoilt throughout. The evening meals were delicious and we really enjoyed chatting with the other guests in the evening. The location of the guesthouse is stunning and there are some fantastic walks right from the doorstep. We'll definitely be back, perhaps in winter time when I can imagine it's even more picturesque.

We stayed here for a couple of nights on our way south from the Hebrides, having initially been attracted by the location close to Rannoch. Heather and Eddie proved to be excellent hosts; we were made really welcome, and all meals (breakfast and dinner) were delicious.

On our day off from travelling we drove the few miles to Rannoch Station from where we had a pleasant walk through the woods along a forestry track until it suddenly ended right on the edge of Rannoch Moor. We came back the same way.

Cycling the badger divide stopped here after Fort Augustus. After a hard days cycle we were given an incredibly warm welcome especially as we were 2 hours late for our meal! Wonderful room, fabulous food and delightful host family Heather and Eddie made for a trip highlight. Great guesthouse!!!!!

Cycled over here from Kenmore and were thrilled when Heather rolled out champagne to celebrate our son’s degree results. The Venison Madras could have been from any city curry restaurant and the newly refurbished back room could have been any high quality hotel. Lovely place.

Best B&B we have ever stayed.
This B&B is a cut above the rest! The hosts Heather and Eddie were very helpful, friendly and accommodating. They dried our cycling gear overnight. We used the garden hose to clean our bikes and stored them in the wood shed. The accommodation was first class and breakfast and dinner were excellent. Strongly recommend having dinner. The food was absolutely brilliant. Heather is a great cook. One of our party is a French chef and even he was impressed, so it must be good. Breakfast by Eddie was also great. Packed lunch also great. Premises are licensed, so no shortage of beers and wines. Location fantastic. All round brilliant.

Just back from our fifth visit to the Bridge of Gaur Guest House. It is now more like a second home.
Heather and Ed are fantastic hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them. Good accommodation, great food, and excellent company.
Already booked for next year.

Beautiful area. Rooms are very tastefully furnished, not overdone.
Must say that we were lucky to have a master bedroom with shower and toilets, some of the other bedrooms have to share common facilities.

Heather and Edward are excellent hosts and over and above that Heather is an exceptional cook. You have to eat in the guesthouse because there is nothing else around, but hey, that's the best deal you can get. From the house you can make longer and shorter walks in the area. All very lovely trips.

Ate here about a week ago and we're still talking about it - great food and wine, both reasonably priced. Our hosts made us very welcome and spent time discussing local areas of interest - ask to see the talking bear if you visit!

Delightful family run guest house. En-suite rooms are a good size with tasteful decor. The steak and Guinness pie is to die for. Should be marketed and shared with the rest of the world. Or you just have to make a trip to the Bridge of Gaur Guesthouse to enjoy it.
